Warning Signs of Diabetes – Don’t You Care For?

Like any other disease, diabetes attacks your health with some persistent and noticeable warning signs of increased blood sugar. What are the diabetes warning signs? Diabetes escalates rapidly and the blood sugar levels shoot up. If you don’t care for these warning signs, then you are to run the risk of increased blood glucose excessively. Type 1 diabetes develops typically during early or later childhood and Type 2 diabetes is more common which appears at any age. It is the result of poor diet and laziness, so you can cure type 2 diabetes naturally.

Whether the diabetes attack is of type I or type 2, you should have constant care over the same. It is most important that you start proper treatment on having noticed any signs that are warning you. Detecting signs of diabetes at an early stage will help lessen the complications that develop in your body. A timely treatment can save you from getting your blood sugar increased. The major warning signs that are commonly noticeable are as below.

Increased thirst and frequent urination: These two signs of warning, triggering each other, are very common with most of the diabetic patients. The thirst gets abnormally increased and doesn’t seem to be satisfied. Increased thirst and disturbed sleep during night getting up several times for frequent urination are the most common warning signs of presence of sugar in the blood. These signs indicate the presence of excess glucose deposited in the blood which is getting away as a waste product through frequent urination.

Increased hunger and weight loss: You feel excessive hunger and appetite for food to eat at once. When you have blood sugar, whatever food you take does not undergo the conversion process into energy. It’s almost a starved condition which makes your body suddenly lose weight. This weight loss can be seen quite abnormal.

Extreme fatigue and blurred vision: Extreme tiredness follows when the carbohydrates in the food are not absorbed by the blood for conversion into energy. This makes you attain extreme fatigue condition. This feeling of having increased tiredness and blurred vision, even without change of routine lifestyle, are identified as diabetes warning signs. Sometimes such a condition of blurred vision will cause to affect your vision leading to total blindness. So, immediate medical care should neither be ignored nor postponed.

Unhealed wounds and infections: Repeated or sustained wounds and sores that do not heal are common with increase of blood sugar. There is chance for bladder infections when the condition is not cared for and controlled. With some cases, gum and tooth infections can also be seen. These are the usual warning signs due to loss of immunity power to the body.

Tingling sensations and frozen shoulders: Tingling sensations in the hands and feet due to uncontrolled blood circulation are experienced. Frozen shoulders are common warning signs felt by some diabetic patients. If the tingling sensations are ignored, they will spread further and worsen your diabetic condition.

Following the diabetes warning signs, if you are able to identify what causes diabetes you can prevent all future risks and control your blood sugar. When you happen to experience any of the above mentioned signs as warning, don’t hesitate to visit your doctor to check up your blood sugar levels and get instant treatment.

Have you not discussed this with a doctor or nurse? Do you have a blood glucose meter? You should.

I’m type 2; my doctor recommends 50 carbs per meal, three times a day. Best carbs are complex carbs (potatos and the like); avoid simple sugars (they’re traumatic to the system). At least the minimum daily of fiber (25 grms), more is better. Drink plenty of water. Veggies are good snacks; salad is a good filler when you feel hungry, for a snack. There are a lot of foods that used to be "forbidden," but now have low-carb versions — even ice cream. Take blood sugar reading mornings after you wake up. If below 72, drink a small glass of juice to bring your blood sugar up, then eat your morning meal.

The Link between Obesity and Diabetes 2

An Introduction to Diabetes II

Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes. People suffering from this problem either can’t produce enough insulin, or can’t process the insulin their bodies produce. In both ways, your body will be unable to metabolize sugar properly. As a result, your glucose levels will be unbalanced and your life will be in danger.

Like Type 1, no cure has been discovered for Diabetes 2. However, you can always manage or prevent Diabetes 2 by avoiding obesity.

What Does Obesity Have to Do with This?

According to studies, the more abdominal fat a person has, the less glucose tolerance he or she may have. This means that if your body mass index, commonly known as BMI, is over 40, you are more likely to develop diabetes easily. This is why different health organizations, especially the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), have launched different campaigns to teach people how to reduce their BMI and maintain it between 18.5 and 24.9.

Complications which Can Happen if You Do Not Take Action

Although more people are becoming the victims of obesity and Diabetes 2, people continue to eat junk food and skipping exercise. However, if the consequences of obesity don’t scare you, here are some dangers you can expect if you were diagnosed with Diabetes 2:

Amputations – Diabetes easily affects the limbs and damages their nerves. As a result, amputations may be required to limit the damage.
Blindness – Diabetes can blur your vision, and eventually cause blindness. According to statistics, 12,000 to 24,000 cases of blindness induced by Diabetes 2 are reported.
Hypertension – 73% of diabetics have been diagnosed with hypertension. High blood pressure is just as lethal as diabetes because you will be risking strokes, kidney damage and heart disease.
Periodontal Disease – High glucose levels can affect your teeth and cause gum diseases.
How to Counter Obesity and Diabetes II

If you really want to avoid the complications of Diabetes 2, what you need to do is work on your weight problems. Here are some ways that can help you control your weight:

Get sufficient sleep – Physicians recommend seven to nine hours per night so that your body can rest and metabolize foods properly. This will control your glucose levels as well.
Watch what you eat – Rather than avoiding all foods, simply watch your calorie count and portions. This allows you to indulge sometimes without gaining so much weight.
Exercise regularly – Exercise will help you utilize the glucose you have in your body; thus you won’t have to worry about high glucose levels.
Get support – Most people who jump off the weight loss wagon are those who do not have the support of family and friends. However, you can have a diet buddy or join a support group to start losing weight and getting into shape.

Even if you have already been diagnosed with Diabetes 2, you can always control it to live your life normally. All you need to do is watch your weight and avoid obesity like the plague.

http://www.PreOp.com
Monitoring and tightly controlling your blood sugar level can significantly reduce the risk of complications due to diabetes and provide you with a higher quality of life.

Knowledge of your blood sugar levels at different times of the day is an essential input into your diabetes care plan and allows you and your medical team to work out and modify your plan for medication, diet and exercise.

The heart of the system to monitor your blood sugar is the blood glucose meter and the automatic lancing device used to obtain your blood sample.
There are many types of glucose meters with varying degrees of sophistication and abilities to store test results. Your doctor or nurse will recommend the type best for you.

You will need to be familiar with the manufacturer’s instructions for each unit. This program will provide you with general guidelines that apply to all units. The equipment you will need to emble includes:

    * the glucose testing meter,
* a packet of test strips,
* an automatic lancing device,
* and facial tissue.

The meter will have a display with blood sugar readings are shown, an on/off power button and a slot into which the Test Strips are inserted. In the back of the meter will be a compartment for batteries.

The Automatic Lancing Device has three components: the body with a release button, lancet holder and ing device, the removable end cap and a separate short lancet.

The first step is to code the meter to match or calibrate the meter to the reactivity of the Test Strip.

This is done by following the manufacturer’s instructions and matching a number on the meter’s display to a number on the Code Strip or on the test strip package.
Coding is done:

    * whenever a new package of Test Strips is opened
* and daily to ensure the meter is coded correctly.

In addition, a control test can be run:

    * if you need to check that the whole system of the meter and the test strip is working correctly
* and to practice your good meter techniques.

    * Follow the manufacturer’s instructions, which usually involves testing a control solution of sugar that is provided with the meter.

Wash your hands vigorously with soap and warm water. Rinse and dry thoroughly with a paper towel.

Remove the Test Strip from its individual package.
With the meter off, insert the correct end of the test strip into the test slot of the meter, according to the manufacturer’s instructions. This usually turns the meter on.

Remove the end-cap from the lancing device.
Insert a short lancet into the lancet holder according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Twist off the protective cap and save it for the disposal of the used lancet.

Replace the end-cap. The depth of the puncture depends on the end-cap used.
Re-cock the lancing device.

Choose your puncture site. The sides of the end segment of the finger are the best sites. Stroke down the finger to push blood toward the puncture site.

Place the end-cap firmly against the chosen puncture site on the side of the fingertip. The more pressure you use, the deeper the puncture. Push the lancet release button without moving your finger or the device.
After the puncture, remove the lancing device. If a drop of blood does not form on its own, stroke down the finger toward the puncture site without going as far as the site itself.

Hold the tip of the test strip in the drop of blood until the meter tells you the test strip is filled, usually by beeping. Remove the test strip from the blood. Put the device and the strip aside until the reading is complete.

Wipe the puncture site with a clean, dry facial tissue and use the tissue to hold pressure on the puncture site until the bleeding stops.
Remove the end-cap from the lancing device and remove the used lancet.
Replace the used lancet back into the protective cap by pushing it into the open end of the cap which is placed on a firm, flat surface like a counter top.

Once the blood sugar reading on the meter is complete, use the tissue to grasp the test strip and pull it out of the meter. This usually turns the meter off.

Discard the lancet in its protective cover and the used strip into a glass or puncture-proof container with a screw top or a “Sharps” Container purchased from your local pharmacy. Replace the cap on the container. When the container is full, cap it and discard it into the trash.

    * Clean the lancing device weekly according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
* Only use a lancet once.
* Do not use the same end-cap on another person.
* Teach another person to use the whole system so that you have a backup when you need istance.

This video was made to tell a little bit about how Chef Dina Knight got started on a path to health and wellness, what her initial inspirations were, how she saw the differences between sick care and wellness. This video is a personal look into her life that so many other people are experiencing on a daily basis with their loved ones in the hospital, sick or dying of a preventable “lifestyle” disease. Heart Disease, Diabetes and obesity affect 1 out of every 2 people in the US, it’s time we made a change and started seeing how what we eat, how we live, and what we think will either lead us down a path towards health and wellness or that we can literally dig our own graves with our forks. This is part one of a several part interview of how she ended up with an amazing weight loss of over 115lbs. We hope you enjoy it, please pass this onto a friend, neighbor or loved one who you think might benefit from hearing this message and be sure and subscribe for future videos, also please visit the websites and join our mailing list so we can keep in touch. Thanks!
