can someone suggest the best food 4 a diabetics preferably daily meal plan?

daily meal plan i.e what to eat in d morning, afternoon & evening and their benefits

diabetics can eat anything that a person without diabetes eats, they just have to be sure to cover their carbs with insulin. The best way to control blood sugars is to determine (with a doctor or certified diabetic educaor’s help) your insulin to carbohydrate ratio, or how much insulin you need to take related to how many carbs you eat. People who use this method gain the tightest control of their blood sugars. I hope this helps, good luck!
p.s. this doesn’t mean that you can just go crazy and eat anything that you want, you should still follow a sensible eating plan just like everyone else.

I need a good diabetic meal plan?

Hi, My doctor said I need to start planning my meals better
I am 16 years old, male and type 1 diabetic.
He limited me to 2500 calories a day, because I’m verry small and he said he gave me the extra 500 to grow more.
I’m reading a little meal planning sheet he gave me today and it says that it’s much better to have a custom meal plan for more freedom and such.
I really couldn’t care what I have to eat, my blood sugars are ranging from 550-600 all day long, it’s never been good, Ive been diabetic for 4 years and it’s never changed, he really scarred me today when he told me I wasn’t gonna live to see my 20′s, and if I did I’d be on dialasys and be blind.

All I ask is that I get a good portion of every part of the food pyramid in everyday. Help is greatly greatly appreciated, thank you.

First off you need to get rid of this mean doctor who is not helping you.

Have your parents help you find a pediatric endocrinologist or just a regular endocrinologist.

He/she will really have a good talk with you and get your sugars in control.
You will also get to meet with a dietitian who can help you with your diet plan.

Try subscribing to diabetes magazines and keep up on research. Meet up with other teens who have diabetes.Perhaps try a pump.
Young men like yourself need calories and proteins for growth and strength.Sounds like you are wasting away from these high sugars.
You’re going to feel so much better when you get a new doctor and get in control of your diabetes.
Good luck.
I am furious with the other people who answered this question.
This is a young growing boy here.He needs loads of food.
His doctor is not helping him manage this well at all.
The so called nurse thinks alcohol raises blood sugar when in fact alcohol LOWERS blood sugar and the person who can’t spell diabetes correctly even though it in on this page several times.
Give this kid a break. It is not his fault. He medical care is very poor.

how do you convert grams into calories using a juvenile diabetic childs meal plan?

We measure amount of carbohydrates.
Please work with your child’s endocrinologist and dietitian to find out what she should be eating.
Good luck.
