Does anyone have any good diabetic recipes?
My husband has diet controlled diabetes and I need some different recipes! Please share!
Fresh grilled beef, poultry, pork or fish . . .
And any of the veggies – even the freezer 1 lb bags of corn, peas, carrots or green beans is great for diabetics.
Yes > proteins and veggies
No or limit > Items with white flour, white rice, sugar and limit fruits.
Actually the Atkins thing is diabetic friendly.
Diabetic Recipes and Food Products?
My grandmother is 81 and recently found to have high blood sugar and blood pressure. So the doctor has asked her to cut a lot of fat out of her diet where possible and not eat much/any sugar. So with that said, I have a couple questions to ask:
1. Are there any candies she can make or buy that are exceptional and will appeal to a sweet tooth?
2. Anyone have any yummy recipes that would be good for someone with high blood pressure and high blood sugar levels?
She loves to eat . . but she is finding it difficult to cope having to suddenly change the way she has been eating all her life. I’m going out and buying a recipe book for her tonight and I also would like to send her some candy in the care package.
Thanks in Advance =)

Diabetic Creamy Cheesecake with Fresh Raspberries
(makes 12 servings)
1 cup (96 g) graham cracker crumbs
2 tablespoons margarine, melted
3 large eggs, separated
1 large egg white
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
3/4 cup (15 g) + 2 tablespoons spoon-for-spoon sugar
substitute such as Splenda 2 tablespoons cornstarch
4 cups (1 l) yogurt cheese made from nonfat plain yogurt
1 1/2 teaspoons grated lemon zest
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
2 tablespoons sugar-free red raspberry preserves
1 cup (246 g) fresh raspberries, rinsed and drained dry
1. Preheat oven to 325°°F (160°C, Gas Mark 3).
2. Combine the graham cracker crumbs and margarine. Pat
evenly over the bottom and about 1/2 inch (1.25 cm) up
the sides of a 9 1/2-inch (23.75 cm) springform pan.
Bake in oven for 15 minutes.
3. Meanwhile, using an electric mixer on high speed, beat
the 4 egg whites and cream of tartar in a large bowl
until foamy. Gradually add 6 tablespoons of the sugar
substitute, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating until egg
whites form stiff peaks.
4. In another large bowl, stir the remaining sugar
substitute with the cornstarch, then add the egg yolks,
yogurt cheese, lemon zest, and vanilla. Beat (using the
unwashed mixer beaters) until well blended.
5. Fold beaten egg whites into cheese mixture. Spoon the
mixture into the partially-baked crust. Bake in the
oven until center barely jiggles when cheesecake is
gently shaken, 50 to 60 minutes. Remove from oven and
cool, then cover and chill for up to 1 day.
6. Melt preserves in a small pan over medium heat, stirring
often. Cool, stirring occasionally, until the preserves
form a thick syrup, about 5 minutes. Remove pan rim.
Mound fresh raspberries on the cheesecake and drizzle
with preserve syrup. Chill.
7. When ready to serve, cut the cheesecake into wedges.
Sliding a pie server under each wedge, lift out gently
onto individual dessert plates.

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons canola or olive oil
FILLING:
3 large egg whites
1/3 cup sugar
2 cups nonfat ricotta cheese
1/4 cup cocoa
1/3 cup yogurt cheese **
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
** Place plain, nonfat yogurt into cheese cloth or a coffee filter. Place in

cheese and vanilla; process, scraping sides occasionally, for 1 minute until

Bake 30 to 35 minutes until filling is just set (center will jiggle slightly).
Turn off oven and leave cake in closed oven 5 minutes longer.
Remove from oven and cool about an hour on wire rack. Cover and refrigerate at
least 3 hours before serving.

He wont eat it if it is boring and I dont think it should be … there has to be some hidden secret that I dont know about … on where to find good sugar free ingredients ?
What types of diet plans do you or someone you love follow.
I just want to make sure I am helping him with his condition …
There has to be more I can do with what I feed us ?
Please any help or suggestions is REALLY needed. Thank You.
People with diabetes can eat anything they want.
Yes, there are some choices that are better than others.
It’s not the sugar to worry about, it’s the carbs. We all need carbs and they are the only thing that raises blood sugar.
Get yourself a book with nutritional information and count carbs. Ask your Bf how many carbs he should eat each meal.
You don’t need to use artificial sugar in baking. It still has the carbs and generally tastes like garbage.
If you bake cookies, he should only have a small portion of carbs with his meal to make room for the cookies.
For instance :
Baked Chicken [ 0 carbs ]
Baked potato [30 carbs ]
green beans [about 5 carbs in a 1/2 cup serving ]
2 Rolls [ 60 carbs ]
That is a bit high.
If you change the two rolls into one, he still has room for cookies.
It’s all a trade off.
Perhaps you should both go to a dietitian to learn what is best.
Good luck.

I use healthy olive & canola oils for cooking what else can I do, is thier a web site that I could find diabetic friendly recipe’s? I tried google but that was as much help as hip pockets on a G’string! (a thong in USA) thanks for all the help.
